Guys whether you realize it or not, you are getting paid by the hour, not by the footage. Think about that. If a company is paying a fair wage with fair benefits then the company is expecting a fair day's work for their money.

This year we will be introducing some books and other stuff (that we will recommend with our Stamp of Approval). These books are very informative and believe it or not, you can even have a lot of fun with these books while you are learning. 
We have over 200,000 oilfield hands that have been to this site this year and we appreciate each and every one of you. I will never play politics with a hands life knowing full well that his or her family is depending on his well being while he is at work.

On a personal note PLEASE don't be upset when you get our answering machine; we work until late into the night and we just can't spend all day on the phone.  If you would just leave your question or your opinion on the machine with a legitimate phone number just like a legitimate email address, we will get back to you as soon as possible.

Safety Man: You will not find this in the oilfield terms and definitions either. A safety man is just what the name implies. His job is to make sure that you are doing and being taught how to do the job and/or jobs safely. If he has not worked on a rig for a minimum of 3 years, then he should not be a safety man.   

We will also have the top companies to work for, the ones that treat a hand like a human being.  Some of these companies are the smaller companies but they understand the concept of family; not just the fact that a hand is cheaper to replace than an S.C.R. House. Now don't get me wrong, there are some major companies that have the same attitude. 

As always we will continue to promote from the positive side instead of wasting time talking about or posting negative pictures, video or information.

We will also will be talking about the Roughneck Schools (which I do support & I do believe there is a place for them). 

I guess I am just tired of these accidents that are happening in our industry. Without hands to work; there is no natural gas or oil to be had.

OUR #1 OBJECTIVE IS TO HELP THE HANDS LEARN TO WORK SAFELY!

This year I have no doubt that some companies will be less than happy with some things we post; however I'm concerned with the hands and their families well being waiting on their spouses to come home the way they went to work. WE ARE HERE FOR THE HANDS! 

The oilfield is like any and all other industries; they fight drug and alcohol problems as well as trying to cover their own ass when someone gets hurt. When you mix iron and flesh; flesh will always lose.

We have to many safety guys that have never pulled a set of slips or for that matter worked anywhere on a rig but they know enough about what happens and what needs to be done to write rules that cover the company from having to pay out workman's compensation. Now this is just my definition of a safety man.
